Help your Hogwarts House win our Apparating Library House Cup! Make your donation through one of the four official Hogwarts House fundraiser pages (Gryffindor | Hufflepuff | Ravenclaw | Slytherin) and recruit other members of your House to do the same. Everyone who donates through the winning Hogwarts House will receive an invitation to an exclusive livestream starring YouTuber and songwriter Kirstyn Hippe! If you're fundraising for the campaign, you'll be able to credit your funds raised to your preferred house via a separate form, which we'll distribute before the end of the campaign.

Q: Are you legit?

A: Yes! Read all about our financial transparency and check out our gold rating on Guidestar here.

Q: Is my donation tax deductible?

A: Yes! We are a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organization. The full amount of your donation is tax deductible.

Q: Usually you offer a bunch of perks and we just pay for the perk we want. What’s up with this new structure?

A: Perk-centric crowdfunding is immensely expensive and reduces the amount of money and time we’re able to allocate directly to the stated cause. Our new model is designed to be impact-driven, and will significantly reduce overhead costs and staff time dedicated to coordinating perk distribution. Long story short: More of your money will go directly to the cause!

Q: How does the contest work?

A: It’s super easy! For every $10 you donate to the fundraiser, you’ll receive one contest entry form, which will be sent to you via email by the end of April 2018. Your task will be to complete a fun and simple Harry Potter-themed creative activity as described in that email. If you’ve donated $20 or more, you will receive multiple opportunities to enter the contest. An impartial jury of HPA staffers will review each submission and select a winner, who will get first pick of the many awesome contest prizes we are offering. We will also select a runner-up, who will receive first choice of the remaining prizes, as well as several honorable mentions, who’ll each receive one of the remaining prizes. If you require further clarification, please feel free to email with your questions.

Q: Does this contest amount to gambling?!

A: No. This is a contest of skill and therefore it does not qualify as gambling.

Q: English is not my first language. Can I submit my contest entry in another language?

A: Yes! HPA volunteer staffers speak English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Mandarin Chinese, Tagalog, Dutch, Kannada, and Hindi. We can accept contest entries in any of these languages.

Q. I've donated or raised enough money to get an awesome physical perk! When do I give you my shipping address and other pertinent info, like t-shirt size?

A. First of all: Thank you for your exceptional effort and support! Watch your inbox for a survey form from us, likely a few days after the campaign deadline of April 14.

Q: Can I donate or accept a donation to my personal fundraiser by way of a good old-fashioned check?

A: Yes! Donations made by check should be made out to "The Harry Potter Alliance" and sent to PO Box 10021, Cranston, RI 02910. Email so we can count it toward your personal fundraising goal and Hogwarts House!

Q:What is the Apparating Library Book Club?

A: As mentioned above, every donation of $35 or more receives a lifetime membership to the Apparating Library Book Club. The book club is an exclusive community of HPA donors, led by awesome HPA volunteers. We feature several books throughout the year and provide prompts for meaningful and thought-provoking discussion. If you love to read and talk about books with other fans, you’ll love the Apparating Library Book Club! Click here to learn more about the Club.

Q: I have a question.

A: That’s a statement. Questions should be directed to :)
