TriWizard Tournament

Are you ready to bring the spirit of "One World, One Dream" to Darfur, Burma, Tibet, China, and your own community? This is a chance for Harry Potter fans all over the Earth to get together as a Dumbledore's Army for the real world in order to have fun, get in touch with the light within us, and shine that light across the world!

How is this like the TriWizard Tournament?

Both the TriWizard Tournament and the Olympics are ancient athletic competitions where representatives of great talent are chosen to represent their foreign lands in order to promote the ideal of international cooperation. In other words the slogan for this year's Olympics in Beijiing: "One World, One Dream."

Tragically, just as Lord Voldemort hijacked the symbolism of the TriWizard Tournament, the government of China is hijacking the "One World, One Dream" ideal of the Olympics as it funds the genocide in Darfur, the military regime in Burma, occupies Tibet, and even oppresses its own people. In short, the government of China is creating "One World" with many "Nightmares" and manipulatively using the phrase "One World, One Dream" as Grindelwald used the phrase "For the Greater Good."

Your House Party

The actions that you'll take at your House Parties will be up to you, but we've divided things up into three tasks, just like the TriWizard Tournament.

House Parties can take place any time during the Olympics from August 8 to August 24. For more info, email Dinah at houseparties@thehpalliance.org and she'll guide you through the process of organizing a House Party. So please download the PDFs that are in the sidebar on this page.

And please remember that despite our criticism of the Chinese government's policies, we speak with respect toward the Chinese people, we understand that no government is free from fault, and we are NOT boycotting the Olympics but joining those in our world (and in Harry's world) who have fought for us to realize that we are one world and together we can plant seeds for this dream to blossom!
